Three weeks ago, i sent a message to my ‘eldest brother’ who is about 8 years older than i am. It was after i sent the message, i realized i was actually texting my big brother. I couldn’t hold back how proud i am of his tenacity, his drive, his push, his tenacity and the beauty of his budding story.

This is one man who has seen it all, experienced the darkest times of life, gone through sinking murky waters of depression, failed businesses, fired from his job and he’s just remained consistent — pushing through. Yes, my brother, Brah. Seun.

My short note today is to every Braah. Seun out there. Struggling and Standing, Pushed by life but Pushing through, Building and Fighting, Raising a family and racing against time, fighting depression and acting as a pillar. This is for you.

The world may not understand your struggles and your silent tears. The speak up and shut up gender box, the ‘aren’t you a man?’ crusade and the countless areas where you bleed and the world is yet to unearth through research.

This is for every Brah. Seun who needed to step up as a Father figure, work 3 jobs to provide for your family, lost your job but couldn’t tell your family but kept pushing through until you got a legit gig that’s keeping you afloat.

This is to every Brah. Seun who is tired of his current job but can’t explore something because he’s 31 and as a MAN, he needs the ‘stability’ as a proof that he is ready for marriage.

This is to every Brah. Seun, burdened by the world’s expectation. What a Man should be and shouldn’t. How he should act and shouldn’t. How we must present himself, his emotions, his thoughts and his imagination.

This is to every Brah. Seun who lost a loved and hasn’t been able to mourn and grief like a normal human. You’ve held your tears, held the hands of your folks, yet life isn’t on a break with battering. This is for you.

This is for YOU my friend and brother. Na Man you be (You are a real Man). For my Biological Brothers- Seun, Lekan, Yinka, Marvellous, Busayo and Samora. My Biological & Spiritual Fathers — Pastor Isaac Olorunda Ayodele & Pastor Damilola Tolulope Oluwatoyinbo. I see you

Happy International Men’s Day
